Where we are

Villa Loghino is located in the heart of Tuscany, a perfect location for a peaceful getaway to enjoy the Tuscan countryside and Volterra or to use as a centrally-located base for a week-long stay to discover the region of Tuscany.

The property cannot be accessed by public transportation, so you must have your own vehicle to reach us.

And because we want you to thoroughly enjoy your experience, even your journey to reach us, we have prepared driving directions so you can find us easily. The routes are quite simple – these very detailed directions are intended to let you know what to do at every turn.

From the Pisa airport (60-minute drive)

As you exit the airport, follow the signs to Firenze (Florence) that will take you on the highway called “Fi-Pi-Li”. Continue on this road in the direction of Firenze for about 20 minutes; very soon after you pass through your first tunnel, take the next exit to Pontedera (Peccioli and Volterra are also indicated). The exit ramp will lead you to a roundabout. Continue almost all the way around until you find the road indicating Volterra.

Continue on this road for about 15 minutes following signs for Volterra and Peccioli. When you arrive near Peccioli you’ll reach a stop-sign. Turn right here towards Volterra, and soon after you’ll pass over a small bridge and then through the road-side town of La Rosa.

At your next stop-sign (big yellow boot in the lawn on your right), turn left.

After about 10 minutes you will pass through the road-side town of La Sterza, and another 5 minutes down the road you’ll find a sign indicating where to turn left to Volterra (do not continue straight to Saline di Volterra).

After about 5 minutes on this road you’ll reach another junction (with the Hotel/Restaurant Molino d’Era on your left) – keep to the left here (do not turn right towards Volterra), passing on a small bridge, immediately afterwards turn right (following signs to Colle Val d’Elsa).

After another 5 minutes on this road, having passed by a small area of werehouses on your left, you’ll reach another intersection. Turn left here towards Cozzano/Ulignano.

You’re almost there…

Now simply turn left at each small road you find, following signs and arrows to Villa Loghino.

From Florence and the Florence airport (75-minute drive, traffic permitting)

From the centre of Florence head to Florence Certosa / Impruneta – OR

From the airport take the A1 toll-road south towards Roma and exit at Impruneta…

You will now find yourselves at a roundabout with a diagonal cement statue/fountain in the middle. If you are exiting the A1, take the first right off of the roundabout, following the blue signs towards Siena & Colle Val d’Elsa.

Continue on this two-lane highway for approximately 30 minutes and exit at Colle Val d’Elsa Nord (Volterra is also indicated on the exit sign). At the end of the ramp there is a roundabout where you want to exit as if turning left. You will soon reach the town limits of Colle Val d’Elsa and reach another roundabout. Turn right.

Continue straight on this road (SS68) towards Volterra for approximately 30 minutes, passing the small roadside towns of Le Melorie, Campiglia, and Castel San Gimignano.

When you pass a blue sign indicating Mazzolla to the left, you know you are very close. Just 1 km after the sign to Mazzolla turn right at the next crossroads onto the SS439 Dir, in the direction of Pisa and Pontedera. Continue downhill on this windy road for approximately 4 km until you reach a crossroads at the bottom of the hill and turn right towards Ulignano / Cozzano.

You’re almost there…

Now simply turn left at each small road you find, following signs and arrows to Villa Loghino.

From Siena (60 minute drive)

From Siena get on the Siena-Firenze highway north towards Firenze. After about 15 minutes on this highway you will see the fortified hamlet of Monteriggioni on the left-side of the road.

After passing Monteriggioni you take the next exit, called Colle di Val d’Elsa Sud.

The exit ramp for Colle di Val d’Elsa (Colle) ends at a stop sign. Turn left, crossing the overpass above the highway you were just on. At the end of the overpass you will reach a round-about. Take the first road to the right (as if you were simply making a right turn).

Follow this road for about 2 km until it leads you into the centre of Colle. Once in Colle simply follow the blue signs for Volterra. There are 3 or 4 ways to get through Colle to Volterra – all take about the same time, so as long as you are following signs to Volterra you are fine.

Once you head out of Colle towards Volterra you will be on the road called the SS68 – this is the one and only road from Colle to Volterra.

Now simply turn left at each small road you find, following signs and arrows to Villa Loghino.

From Rome and the Fiumicino airport (3 hr 45-minute drive)

Leaving the Rome airport of Fiumicino follow signs towards the SS1 (also called the “Aurelia”) in the direction of Civitavecchia and Grosseto (going north).

Continue straight on this road following signs for Grosseto and then, when you pass Grosseto, continue on this road towards Cecina. Exit at Cecina, following signs for the SS68 to Volterra. (From the Rome airport to Cecina it takes just under 3 hours).

Continue straight on this road, passing the roadside towns of Ponteginori and Saline di Volterra, following signs for Volterra. After Saline di Volterra the road will begin to wind uphill towards Volterra. As you approach Volterra you will reach a crossroads in the middle of a curve to the right; turn to the right towards Siena and Firenze (not Pisa to the left). Continue straight on this road, passing an Esso gas station on your left and passing under a small arched bridge until you leave the city limits. After about 2 km from the small bridge you turn left onto the SS439 Dir towards Pisa and Pontedera. Continue downhill on this windy road for approximately 4 km until you reach a crossroads at the bottom of the hill and turn right towards Ulignano / Cozzano.
